In the absence of options during the current crisis, virtual meetings have now come to the fore. But, virtual meetings are more than just a last resort. When run effectively and with attendee engagement front of mind they can be powerful vehicles for communication and decision-making and can be the best choice for a team or organisation.

While the basics of meeting etiquette still apply, running virtual meetings requires a different approach from chairing face-to-face ones. This vibrant, interactive 3hr course explores how to host successful virtual meetings and get the same level of interaction and engagement as you would get face-to-face.

What you'll learn

  • Planning for a virtual meeting – how to give yourself the best chances of success from setting a solid structure and agenda, to key considerations, pre-information and set-up.
  • Managing the meeting – how can you ensure the meeting runs successfully from an administrative perspective including managing time, managing the participants, handling questions, getting consensus and managing debate and dissent.
  • Ensuring engagement – how can you make sure that everyone is listening, participating, heard and invested in the outcomes.
  • Post-meeting follow up – how to manage recaps, takeaway actions, updates and follow-ups.
  • Preparing for trouble – how to troubleshoot and overcome some of the most common issues that arise during virtual meetings.
