Presentation Skills for the Reluctant Presenter

The tools and skills you learn will be relevant in both a face to face or virtual environment.
Multi-day

Overview

Being in the spotlight is a real challenge for some people. However, it is common in most professions and organisations that once people take on a specialist or management role, that they will be expected to present to projects teams, senior executive teams, board, client groups and others. This course will equip those who feel nervous about presenting with the skills and knowledge to plan and deliver effective presentations. The tools and skills you learn will be relevant in both a face to face or virtual environment.

We will cover all the areas that create anxiety including handling questions with confidence, what makes an effective presentation and developing your own personal style- how to be effective and still be yourself. We will try out anxiety-managing techniques that can be done just before your presentation, but also others that you can use during the presentation. We give everyone the chance to do a short presentation and get supportive and helpful feedback that enables participants to deliver even more skilfully in the future.

Our trainer Shona has been training reluctant presenters successfully for over 10 years and has helped people transform their view of themselves as a presenter.

Feedback

I attended the Presentation Skills for the Reluctant Presenter course and found the day really helpful. Shona was great and there was only a small group of attendees so the presentation was nowhere near as scary as what I thought it would be. I now have a number of methods to try out to help combat anxiety ahead of any future presentations. Thank you!
Really helpful
The trainer was so lovely and made me feel really relaxed. The group was small (5 people) which really helped make it more personal. The content was brilliant and i have come away with different techniques which i can use going forward to help keep my anxiety about presenting at ease.
The content was brilliant
I am so glad I came. the facilitators were great, the venue, and the whole layout was awesome. I learnt not only things to benefit my presentation skills, but generally tips on how to control anxiety and thought etc. its nice to know that there are other people who also struggle with presenting and that I am not alone. people of all different levels and ages, which is reassuring. I will take on the advice and practice. looking forward to receiving my video of my presentation.
