Overview

Some leaders are better with the business, others better with people. The Strategic Leader straddles the two worlds of strategy and leadership, combining business skills with people skills and getting a multiplication effect.

Leading strategically is about rising above the day to day business to gain a wider perspective and to regularly ask six key questions, and find the answers, to check that the organisation is on track for sustainable success over the long term.

This course is a highly practical one. It takes each of the six key strategic leadership questions and helps you to apply them to your own organisation. The result of asking and answering these questions should be a fully integrated strategic plan. Additionally, it follows, and teaches you, a strategic thinking process that you will be able to apply to your own organisation.

What you'll learn

By the end of the day you should be able to:

  • Talk the language of strategic leadership
  • Lead a strategy development meeting
  • Write a strategic plan
  • Communicate a strategic plan to your team/organisation
  • More effectively lead the implementation of a strategic plan.

Who is it for?

  • You are a leader in an organisation that needs a clearer strategic direction
  • You are responsible for developing and/or implementing strategy in your organisation.
  • You need to be able to develop and/or communicate strategy in your organisation
  • You want to prepare yourself to move into a more strategic role in your organisation.
  • You want a better understanding of strategy because this will help you in your role as a leader.
