We’re in for a tough decade. Customers will become more demanding, competition will become fiercer, and resources will be tighter. Private and public sector organisations that can respond quickly and effectively to this rapidly changing environment will thrive, and those which cannot will fail.

Most organisations still lead change badly – the wrong people communicate the wrong things in the wrong way, resulting in confusion, low morale and inefficiency. A minority of organisations get it right – they understand that if you lead change in the right way, you can enhance performance, morale and reputation.

This challenging and intensive one day programme is designed to equip change leaders with the insights and skills they need to lead effective organisational change. Whether you are a departmental head involved in restructuring, a chief executive wanting to refocus your organisation, or part of a change team charged with reducing costs and increasing revenues, this course is for you.

7 February 2012, London - Venue details *2 places only remaining*
12 June 2012, Birmingham - Venue details

What you will learn:

  • Why most organisational change fails; the three factors you need to make it succeed.

  • Why change? How to communicate the key drivers of change to the right people in the right way.

  • What’s the end point? Why it is crucial to paint a picture of what success looks like and how to do it.

  • Who will lead the change? Get the wrong people in charge and even sensible changes will fail. How to get the right balance of experts, connectors and persuaders.

  • Two kinds of change. The pros and cons of fast top down change v slow bottom up change. Which approach to use in which circumstances.

  • Engaging people in change. How  to use projects and programmes to make change work. (Almost) everything you need to know about project management in 20 minutes! The importance of bright spots and solution focused approaches to change. \

  • The psychology of change. Human beings are not always rational. Six tools for engaging people emotionally. The power of context – why it is often better to focus on context, not behaviour.

  • Organisational culture. If the culture doesn’t change, nothing changes. Four simple steps to change your organisational culture.
