This course will give you practical tips and introduce you to a range of structured methods for conducting fair and successful interviews. You'll learn how to get to know the real person, and make fair and comparable assessments about each candidate so you can be sure you're making the right choice.

  • How changes in job searching and expectations are changing the interview process
  • Your interview toolkit – types of interviews and when to use them
  • Preparing the interview -defining what you really need, choosing the best interview format, eliminating bias
  • Questions and answers – how do you make sure your questions are going to elicit genuine and not rehearsed answers
  • Reading between the lines – how to assess answers and look for positives and/or red flags
  • How and what to record during and after the interview
  • Don't ask that! Questions that could cause problems – legal or otherwise
