Overview

Once change was the exception – now it's the norm. You may be asked to deal with repeated changes at work, sometimes multiple changes at the same time.  You'll probably be asked to do more with less, you may have to make difficult, unpopular decisions.  The pace is unrelenting and you're always expected to be "on".

This can lead to increased amounts of stress and uncertainty, a decrease in confidence, wellbeing and engagement at work.

A key skill for leaders and aspiring leaders is resilience under pressure – how to bounce back from setbacks, stay focused and maintain your performance in the face of challenge and adversity.

What you'll learn

  • Understand where your stress is really coming from - and the practical steps you can take to reduce it
  • Understand the different elements of resilience and where their own pressure points are
  • Understand that resilience can be improved by learning how to adapt your thinking and actions
  • Practice creative ways to solve problems even while under pressure
  • How to challenge your perceptions and beliefs about a “problem” so you can proritise the right actions and dismiss unhelpful distractions
  • Identify sources of help and support – and what to do when the going gets tough
  • How to identify their own resilience needs to ensure they have a solid core of strength to rely on
  • Use a range of practical techniques to remain focussed and motivated through setbacks, change and other challenges

Who is it for?

This course will benefit any manager or senior manager.  It will be especially useful for managers working in organisations that are undergoing change, budget cuts, redundancies or restructuring.
