Overview

Emotions are not just something to understand and navigate your way around.  Leaders with high emotional intelligence understand how to tap into the emotions of their team to make work more compelling, meaningful and enjoyable.

They understand how to motivate themselves and others, they are better at giving feedback, and they can manage conflict better.

This course takes a fresh look at emotional intelligence, giving clear guidance on how to build on your strengths and apply the latest thinking to your current leadership challenges.

The course includes a quick diagnostic tool you can use in private to gauge your current level of skill and areas that you might like to develop.  This information won't be shared with the group.

What you'll learn

  • what is emotional intelligence?
  • your habits and beliefs and how they shape your leadership
  • the difference between reacting and responding
  • the human response to change, and how an emotionally intelligent leader approaches change
  • understanding your own emotional response, and those of your team
  • how to harness emotions positively to engage and motivate people
  • an overview of current thinking on emotional intelligence and how this applies to leading people
  • your personal development plan - clarifying your next steps for putting emotional intelligence into practice

Who is it for?

Any manager or leader who wants to improve their ability to motivate and engage people.
