Ofsted's new inspection framework places increasing emphasis on self assessment, this has now become the foundation of the OFSTED inspection process. This equally true for schools and colleges inspected by Estyn.
Models of self assessment are generally based on the common inspection framework (CIF) which centres on formulating an action plan based on identified shortcomings. This workshop explores how these processes can be enhanced in order that an organisation can identify, share, and build on what it is doing well.
This focus on good practice will help participants to:
- Involve all staff in the self assessment process so they see it as a positive opportunity to improve and identify success
- Secure future funding
- Obtain recognition for improvements and use this to enhance PR
- Embed best practice, and the habit of learning and improving
- Identify what it can build on in order to improve the quality of the service
The workshop introduces managers to the Appreciative Inquiry approach and provides a model which will enable them to identify and build on best practice in their own organisation. The emphasis of the day will be enabling you to see practical steps you can take to change the way you do self assessment so that it is something exciting and engaging.
